A Dinner Date with Grandma NeNe

Wednesday was rather relaxing. I spent the morning with Mommy and Grandma Lynda.  Nothing much exciting happened we just vegged.  I had a few bottles, played with a few toys, had some tummy time and kicked back in my bouncy seat.  After my 11 O'clock bottle Mommy packed me up to head to Grandma NeNe's for a special dinner date.

Grandma NeNe was soooo excited to see me and I was pretty happy to see her too.  She showed me her house and I met one of Gunners doggy cousins, Amos.  He sniffed my feet and I must have passed the dog sniffing test again because he like Gunner and Boggey instantly became a protector.  He followed us around the house and laid in front of my bedroom door while I took my afternoon nap.

After waking up my my afternoon nap, Grandma NeNe helped give me a bath and I got all spiffy for our dinner date.  Here I am all buckled in to my stroller on our way to the restaurant (we walked there because it was so close...correction, I was pushed, Mommy and Grandma NeNe walked).

Dinner was great.  I slept through the beginning of it but then woke up just in time for Grandma NeNe to introduce me to all her friends.  I met Doug, Kuty, Cybele, Susan, Linnea, and Bob.  After dinner we walked home, Grandma NeNe gave me my bed time bottle and then Mommy tried to take me back to Grandma Lynda's and Grandpa Hornak's.  However, since I slept through part of my bed time bottle I did get quite enough time with Grandma NeNe, so just as Mommy turned the corner to leave, I expressed my discontent and forced her to turn around.  We spent a little more cuddle time with Grandma NeNe and then I agreed to let her leave (but I promised we would be back).  When I got back to Grandpa's I got bed time kisses from them and went straight to bed.

O and I almost forgot!  Before my bed time bottle, right when we got home from eating, Daddy called to talk to me.  It was great because I miss him and it was nice to hear his voice.  I think there is something like only a week left before I get to see him again and I can't wait to show him how much I have grown!

Shopping and a Concert

My first full day in Ohio was very exciting.  I slept great! I got up only one time in the middle of the night for a quick bottle; I am thinking Mommy was pretty happy about that.  After breakfast I visited with Grandma Lynda and Grandpa Hornak for a bit while Mommy showered and got herself ready for the day.  Grandma Lynda had to take one of my cousins for a check up so Grandpa took me and Mommy to the Lodi outlet malls for some shopping.  Mommy picked out a some things for me and Grandpa paid (Mommy says he likes to spoil me). Really the trip was all about me because we only went to three stores and by the looks of it they only had little clothes like mine, not any of the types of clothes you big people wear.  It was pretty neat to see the stores just for small folks like me.
After shopping I got an afternoon nap and then woke up to show Grandma Lynda all my new clothes.  Mommy dressed me in one of my new shirts see...
and then we headed off to meet some more of my family.  I met two of my step cousins, Hunter and Anna B, my step uncle, Brad and his wife Sue.  Really this whole "step" business I understand is just a formality so I here dub them Uncle Brad, Aunt Sue, and cousins Hunter and Anna B.  Meeting them all was really very exciting for me.  Hunter had a music concert so he performed for us, he even had a solo.  He did a great job.  I even tapped him so I could show you just how good he is but it figures, mommy can not figure out how to get the video off her phone and has to wait to talk to daddy for help so I guess I'll have to share that with you later. However, Mommy was able to get the pictures we took on the computer so they will have to do for now.

You can't tell by the photos but Hunter has superior musical skills...I just think he is the coolest!
And Hunter got an award, I wonder if he will frame it?

Aunt Sue and Anna B walked around with me for a bit

and Uncle Brad even held me.  I tell you what, my Uncle Brad is pretty darn tall, kinda like Gpa Joe.  I kinda wonder if I'll be tall like all these guys I know? Anyway, I got to meet one last person and that was Mrs. Roden she is the principal of Hunter's school and she is the lady that started a prayer chain for me when I was sick in the NICU.  I was so happy to meet her and show her how strong and healthy I am.  I gave her a big smile to show her how much I appreciated her prayers and kind heart.

After Hunters concert I really wanted to go home with that cousin Anna B but Mommy said I had to go home to get to bed and Aunt Sue said Hunter needed to study and Anna B also needed to get her rest.  Our Moms assured us we would get to hang out again before I have to go back home and I sure can't wait to play with my cousins some more.

So after a very busy and exciting day we headed home and off to bed I went.

Road Trip

Well I finally did it, I accomplished my first road trip and came to Ohio! Not on my own sillies, Grandpa Hornak came and got mommy and me on Sunday night and we left for Ohio Monday morning.  The trip was great.  I spent all eight hours or so sleeping, playing with the toys hanging from my car seat, eating bottles and listening to Mom and Grandpa’s conversations.  I became fussy a few times but only to let Mommy know I needed fed or to express my excitement or express my fading patience for my arrival in Ohio.  Grandpa played some music for me (the one guy we were listening to sounded like one of those bull frogs) and he also played something called “talk radio”, which it’s my understanding not many of my other family members (like Grandma Lynda) really care for…but I just like noise at this stage in my life so anything will do.  I think when I get older I’ll be able to have an opinion and tell Grandpa what I really think about Rush and Sean.

So I know you are all wondering what it was like for me when I crossed over in to the Buckeye State…well, let me tell you.    As I was looking out the window I saw a black box with wheels being carried by what looked to a very large brown dog with a really long tail and a lot of  big white and black type dogs.  Mommy explained to me that what we were seeing were horses pulling buggies and cows.  Silly me, I thought they were types of dogs, I mean they had four legs, ears and tails but they were a ton bigger then Gunner.  Mommy said I’ll learn more about animals and the sounds they make as I get older.  I also saw the school Mommy went to when she was a little girl, the ATI OSU branch that Grandma NeNe went to and the OARDC where Grandpa Hornak used to take Mommy and Aunti Izzy to play.

We arrived at Grandpa Hornak’s at about Five O’clock.  Grandpa unloaded the car while I got to get hugs from Grandma Lynda and Mommy unpacked my belongings. I got to meet the biggest black dog I have ever seen! His name is Bogey.  And he really is a dog, though this dog, horse thing is getting kinda confusing because Bogey is big enough to be a horse but he is a dog…ugh so confusing.  I then got a bath and mommy got a shower as we both needed to freshen up from our long drive and wanted to smell nice since Grandma NeNe and Gpa Joe were coming over for dinner.

After my bath the neighbor lady Andi came over to meet me.  She said she just could not wait to meet me and since she could not wait she met me naked…that’s right, naked as a Jay bird.  Mom said one would usually be embarrassed to meet someone naked but not me and besides it was not really my fault; mommy was getting me dressed after my bath.

While Mom was in the shower I became a little fussy waiting for my bottle so Grandma Lynda walked me across the street to Andi’s house and I got to meet Andi’s daughter Stephanie. After that, I got my bottle and just as I finished Grandma NeNe and Gpa Joe arrived.  Boy or boy was it nice to see all my Grandparents.  I had forgotten how tall that Gpa Joe is but when he picked me up I quickly remembered as I checked in to a new altitude up on his shoulders!  He is such a funny guy…anyway, toward the end of dinner Grandma NeNe fed me my night time bottle and I was out like a light!  I was exhausted from the trip and all those hugs and kisses.  Besides, Mommy said I had to get my rest each night because our days will be full of visitors and excitement for this whole trip.

***I have some pics to share of my trip but mommy is trying to get them on to the computer for me so just keep your eyes peeled (what does that mean anyway, eyes peeled...???)*****

A little update

Well guys, it has taken me over a month but I have finally got my turn on the computer again.  I would like to say I was slacking on my blog because mommy and daddy would not let me have computer time but that would only be a partial truth.  Really, I have been a very busy baby and simply have little time to play on the computer.

So as I was saying before, I have been busy, like really busy! Aside from doing the things I do best like growing, sleeping, drinking bottles and filling diapers I have tackled a couple milestones.

I had my first real smile on March 24th and have not stopped since!

I have become quite the pro at tummy time...

I can roll from my tummy to my one side or the other...but not back on to my tummy yet...

I can track objects and I am trying my darndest to figure out how to grab something I can see, like this big blue octopus mommy hangs above me when I am playing.

I can also talk...ok kidding, I can't say full words yet or anything but I can speak babynese ..here I am talking to mom while she changes my diaper and insists on taking photos

I also spend a lot of time growing my cheeks, see it takes lots of energy to grow this things.  After all they are one of my many perfectly cute features! Come on...I know you want to kiss em.

We have had lots of visitors from family and mommy and daddy's friends.  Some of our visitors include, Grandma NeNe, Gpa Joe, Grandpa Hornak and Grandma Lynda, Niah, Lorelai, Wyatt, Jaime, Melanie, Celeste, Cindy, Corinne, Katherine and the list goes on and on. and all have paid me a visit.  I even got a visit from my Auntie Izzy.  No offense to my other visitors but I really missed that girl; we have quite the special relationship and I had not gotten to see her since I was born.

 ahhhh I love her...

Well, it is getting late and I am not going to lie, I SO need a bottle, so you all have a great Weekend!!!
